Understanding the Effects of Blood Sugar

When we eat carbohydrates, our blood sugar levels rise- causing insulin to release from the pancreas.

This insulin leads blood sugar into our liver and muscle cells. All excess sugars are turned into triglycerides- which are stored in our fat cells.
After this process, our bodies feel a decrease in blood sugar levels- from the insulin leaving our blood stream.

This drop in blood sugar causes our brains to shut down, and is usually when we make our bad food choices! Thus, the high/low blood sugar cycle begins again.
