That experience — of being dismissed by conventional medicine, of finding a physician who finally looked at the whole picture — is the reason I built this practice. And it's the reason I practice the way I do.
I Know What It Feels Like to Fight for Your Health.
At age 20, I underwent open-heart surgery. Before that, I faced serious health concerns as a teenager, including food allergies and a heart condition. To the outside world, I often appeared well; I was looking for a clinician who would take my concerns seriously.
Some of my concerns were not addressed in a way that felt complete to me. A clinician who took time to consider my history and questions helped shape the patient-centered approach I value today.
That experience informs a patient-centered approach: listen carefully, review concerns in context, and discuss appropriate next steps.
Driven by my own experience, I pursued education in human biology. As a pre-med undergraduate, I published three peer-reviewed endocrinology papers, managed a research budget, and spent three years in a hospital pathology laboratory studying biological processes.
